Rainforest River

The waters of the Russell River flow downstream, draining the lofty Mt Bartle Frere (Queensland's highest mountain), to the wilderness coastline of Russell Heads.

A year or two after this image was captured, the local council in their wisdom destroyed this scene with bulldozers, clearing the trees and boulders, to make way for a picnic area. Vandalism.
